Can anyone stand this guy and his smug commentating. Who wants to hear about how bad the fighters are from a guy who couldn't beat up a girl scout?

One comment from him made me want to punch my TV screen. After showing a clip of the epic Gatti v. Ward fight, Max said something along the lines of: "see, you don't have to be talented to have great fights." what a ball sack. -
Thought he was pretty spot on tonight, personally.
He's a ****ing commentator/writer. Since when do you have to be a professional boxer to give your opinion? Guess we should just shut down these forums.

I thought he showed a lack of respect for the fight, while some of what he said may be true, he's supposed to be selling it not encouraging people not to watch etc.Comment

I didn't like that comment either - Max always tries to convince the viewers that white boxers have no talent or athleticism.
He lacks tact and social common sense. If the decision-makers at HBO were wise, they'd get rid of him and just go with Roy and Bob Papa for Boxing After Dark.

He swings a big stick but doesn't have any of the credibility to back it up, that and all the tacked on historical references...dude is getting worse and worse...also, how is HBO letting him do interviews for years now, he is a disaster.Comment
