The kid is skilled, hits hard but is also inconsistent, so you never know which Alvarez shows up to fight. He's gotta decent future, but he gets hit entirely way to much. Hopefully they don't throw him into the fire sooner than need be, as was the case with Fernando Vargas.

frankly its really ****** for all u haters out there to knock canelo when hes only 20 yrs old, secondly when has pacroid ever faced anybody in their career and physical prime??????? never . thats when so stop with the hypocrisy. canelo has much to learn he should box more ,hes reying on his power too much,and hatton showed he has a world class chin and conditiong . dude has a chin , way better chin than his brother, overall good performance for canelo , but golden boy is pushing him too fast, they need to copy pacroid,and just face old"name" bums...............

Wow.. I wasn't crazy about Alvarez until tonight... He hits like a mule and has excellent accuracy.. He is very patient and sits very nicely on his punches. He isn't blistering fast but he is far from slow. He showed he has a little tenacity in him tonight. His systematic body work is impressive.. I used to wonder what all the fuss was about, now i know... I heart Canelo :no ****

I'm not all that impressed with Alvarez yet. He had a ton of advantages, and should not have let Hatton finish this fight standing. He was the MUCH bigger man, and had better handspeed/combos. He should have taken Hatton out. He is still only 20 years old, but he needs to fight someone a little tougher in his next fight to get my respect.

welcome to boxing. in this sport, fans of certain fighters tend to compare them with other fighters. styles, power, flaws, and even career routes. there's a p4p list where they compare different fighters from different weight classes. it's pretty neat, check it out when you can....and throwing a little racist comment on the internet doesn't make you look cool either....

Glad i didn't watch this BS fight. On the bright side, the world title will force Alvarez to fight a decent level of competition. Alvarez is going to have a much tougher time when he's forced to fight Angulo or Rhodes or Margarito the top 3 in the WBC rankings.

He says he wants 2 more fights Before he gets at the top guys, he should go against a cagey guy in the top 30-40 like ishe smith.if he wins that then he should go ahead improve from the top 30-40 and get at trout who is in the top 20, plus he will get a chance at revenge from rigo's loss.then should he get thru them , go ahead and give Rhodes his chance, he's ranked top 10, plus he got screwed over by the WBC and should have been the one to have fought Alvarez for the WBC title tonite instead of matty.

that would be a great course of action and the best for alvarez to keep improving and like he said not only fight the mosley and the cottos but to actually beat them, but people on here are morons who want to see him fail by throwing him in with the elites bc of that dum paper belt right away.
