Sillakh gave a very good performance tonight & is a fighter to take a very good look at in the future...He showed good boxing skills & kept his cool & didn't get anxious after he knocked Despaigne down & stuck to his game plan..I've seen Despaigne fight before & he's shown good skills(like most Cuban that were part of the olympic team) but Sillakh just boxed circles around him & busted him up!!! It seems like Despaigne cuts easy, cause in 1 of his past fights(I think it was his last fight before this one) he was also cut above his eye..Comment

Yan Barthemely lost early into his career and was from this most recent group of defectors.

If you think about this, the fight was a bit of a no-brainer when you remember the Sillakh/Judah fight. Judah's been in there with Glenn johnson and Sillakh boxed perfection against him.

It was way too early for Despaigne to take on this guy.Comment

yes i knew he was going to lose, even in the amateur system he was never anything above b level, he would always get beat by the top competition in the amateurs and have to settle for a bronze medal. he is on the level of yudel johnson who will also lose as soon as he steps up. but you ARE RIGHT THE WAY the russian dismantled him was very impresive, i am actually pretty hyped up about ismael he had great combos, gret speed and really light on his feet for being a big man,. he still green but what a great prospect. It's funny how, in boxing, the bigger, stronger looking guy isn't always the harder hitter. Teddy Atlas kept saying how Despaigne has the Hercules body but prefers to box. Sillakh landed fast, often and HARD. I agree that Yordanis wasn't anything to get excited about, but the way he got owned tonight was impressive.Comment
