LAS VEGAS, NEV – WBC female super welterweight champion CHRISTY MARTIN suffered a severe training injury and has been forced to withdraw from her rematch against Dakota Stone. Martin-Stone II was scheduled to open the SHOWTIME PPV® broadcast of “Relentless” – headlined by the Miguel Cotto vs. Ricardo Mayorga WBA super welterweight championship – Saturday, March 12, at the MGM Grand. Good. Female boxing sucks and nobody wanted to see it anyway. Clottey as dull as he is, is way more exciting than seeing women box.

Nobody wants to see that fight anyway. The Mayorga fight by itself although fun is not exactly a legit fight and a 40 something year old shot female fighter coming off serious injuries didn't help to legitimize this card.

It looks like Clottey may get some redemption if he fights like a warrior again (like he did with Corrales, Margarito, Cotto, etc.). Most peoples lasting impression of him is mailing it in against Pacquiao so if it's televised and he comes to fight, he may have a chance to make amends...

I wanted to see Martin fight. She's the only female boxer I can to watch and can remeber watching. The first time I saw her fight was on the undercard of Tyson-Bruno II at my uncles when I was a kid...
