Maidana couldnt put khan down once, i dont think the wraps made a difference.
Being heavy handed and having explosive power are two different things...Ortiz said his hands didn't feel the same...No doubt that Khan, Maidana, and Ortiz have power and heavy hands...but when you pad the hands it takes away some that sledge hammer type feeling when you get hit...I've sparred before and had my hands double wrapped and wrapped regularly...it's not that comfortable...but really though its just a thought...

True, fact is Maidana wasn't able to sit on his punches against Khan, until late in the fight when Khan was taking risks. Stylisticly Maidana wasn't quick enough on his feet to really get to Khan, regardless of how strong he is.

i dont like amir, but he simply outboxed maidana. maidana is a bit overrated imo. dude has KOs, but against nobodies. his biggest wins are against ortiz and cayo, and theyre on the same boat as him, up and coming young fighters. hopefully he proves himself as a top fighter, but right now, i can't picture him beating khan in the rematch.
