I'd agree if we were talking 135-140. At Welterweight, though Sweet Pea was still good, but clearly wasn't his best years in comparison to his earlier years. I think Pac gives him a hell of a fight.
Broward & Miami dade huh,me too!But like I said,The welterweights Pacman has beaten can't compare at all to Sweet Pea at the weight.Remember an old Sweet Pea knocked down a PRIME DLH.Nuff said!!
Manny Pacquiao would win a decision over Whitaker. If Chavez could touch him up (whitaker won the fight, but chavez did work too) - then pacquiao could hit him often, each and every round - more times then whitaker would hit him in return = pacquiao's victory. pacquiao would get stung a few times, though.

One thing you all seem to be forgetting - Pac's footspeed. His footwork would give sweat pea a lot of difficulties.

LOL, yea, so embarressing that one of the greatest fighters and sharpshooters of all time could hit Whitaker.
Whitaker is a stylstic nightmare for Pacquiao. A master at defense and counter punching, with a powerful jab to stop Pacquiao in his tracks and a powerful body attack while grappling at close range? cant get much worse.
and what is this myth about Whitaker not throwing a lot of punches? Whitaker hit 4 different people with over 400 punches, one of those times against the ATG Azumah Nelson.

A lot of people on here don't know or understand what Whitaker brought to the table in boxing. You shouldn't be suprised at the BS spewed about him.
Whitaker relied a lot on reflexes, but even a fading version did a pretty good job of avoiding DLH, who had pretty good handspeed at that time. And Sweet Pea had an excellent jab that he could certainly hit Pac with all night. As much as I like Pac, I think Whitaker takes this one, especially at 147.
