Ortiz chose this fight for a reason and he wants to prove ppl wrong...some people think gbp gave up on him and are feeding him to other fighters...I think that's BS! Ortiz has the choice to sign the fight or not like when Khan wouldn't face maidana for almost two years! This is not a mandatory fight for Ortiz and I don't see why gbp would want to sacrifice a very young 24 year old fighter with talent and a decent record to an older fighter outside their company without thinking Ortiz can win?

If Ortiz would had fought a fight at WW against a credible opponent it would be more of an attraction. Ortiz heart is still in question in he is fighting more cautious than before and that killer instinct and aggressiveness that made him a fighter to watch is not there like it used to be.

A faster bigger fighter like Berto might make Ortiz's punch output diminish in a big way during the fight

Not a big fan of either but i will be rooting for V.O.

Too close to call tho but Ortiz needs to put on a show after what Rios did.
im excited too man thats why i did this thread to see if i was the only one. im not a fan of either fighter myself but i think it will be a good action fight.

rios became a champ before him. how many people thought that would happen when the two first started??? ortiz needs to come hard.

Not sure who to pick here. I think Ortiz has the skills/attributes to win this, but his apparent lack of confidence, the tententative way he fights now matched against the speed, power and aggression of Berto makes me think Berto will take it...

Yeah. Me too...I think Ortiz has more long-term upside and I'm lookin' for some new boxers to root for, now that my favorites are mostly on the downside of their careers. Berto has been kind of a disappointment that way.

the only thing about these 2 guys that makes the fight interesting is that both are good punchers.

but both of their styles are horrible for each other. this fight is gonna be boring as **** unless someone actually has the balls to fight it out.

I knew from the jump that timmmah/devon was gonna be a boring fight to watch, but it was a necessary fight to see which one of them should fight the winner of maidana/khan.
