  • Vitali could fight in any era, he is just that awkward stylistically, tough and that hard of a puncher.. not to mention he is ALWAYS in shape, never slouches.

Wladdy gets KO'd by the hard hitters of the old era who were in shape and not big fatasses with tits.

You got it the other way around. In the 60s and 70s heavyweight was defined 175+lbs (= lower than how FEMALE heavyweight is defined nowadays). Thus they would be twice or thrice as dominant because they would be allowed to fight all those cruisers.

Even the the 200+ lbs guys back then had far less experience with 200+ guys than nowadays. For example a genuine heavyweight like Foreman when he faced The Clay had only a record of 23-0 in terms of heavyweight, while The Clay was 16-2. Joe Frazier (when he won the world title) was 8-0.

And I am generous here because 200+ is not even heavyweight nowadays: The lowest entry point is basically 215+, while the average weight is 225+. Wlad's AVERAGE opponent is 233 lbs. Foreman I's median KOvictim is 206 lbs. The Clay's is 197 lbs (within 12 rounds) and this is INCLUDING all his doubtful KOs (Liston, Bonavena, Williams etc etc).

Wlad's career in the 60s and 70s would have been a walkthru HAD HE BEEN ALLOWED to fight (which he hadn't been because Societ Bloc'ers were forbidden to).

knowing the competition from the 70s HWs, would the klitschko's be on top and have the belts they got?

Who would they match up with? who would put a good whoopin on them? Who would call them out to fight?
Easily, especially Vitali. Some of the better punchers has a slight chance against Wladimir, but Vitali dominates in that or any other era. Just too big, too smart, too strong and just downright too damn good overall.

        • Vit is tough enough to cut it
Wlad could have some success but he'd never be dominant

            Nuthugging right there

As for Vaulev/Tyson/power thing......it really shows how far you guys are reaching going to some extreme example to make the K-bros look bad.
No it's an example to show you're wrong about questioning earnie shavers and his opponents weights. In general too.

I can easily do that watch, FWs hit harder than WWs because Ponce de leon probably hits harder than Paulie Malinaggi.
Uhh, I'm not comparing featherweights to Welters. Weight is obviously more significant over that range.

            • vitali could fight in the 70s but he wouldn't be dominant (he would be a stepping stone kinda fighter) i also believe he would run the risk of being ko'd flat by guys like fraizer, shavers, norton, foreman. A fat lewis fought a foreman & shavers "style" fight & blooded vitali all up....these guys would probably go ahead & end vitali.....this is the thing with vitali. what happens when a opponent has found his way on the inside.....what happens when a opponent has taken his hardest shots & is still exploding in his chest like a animal (while vitali gas for air) THIS IS THE 70s. it wouldn't be long before vitali find himself in these kind of fights (even a lot of bums of that era are willing to give vitali a tough fight such as this) I personally think vitali would crumble. 70's guys were tough. tough as nails.....this is not A fat slop titty ball division. as far as wlad. I see him getting knocked out & possibly hurt badly.....

              • Klits bros. will last in any era. athletes are getting stronger. the farther the era is the weaker. yeah you guys can hate me for saying it but its TRUE. not saying they are all better but definitely STRONGER. im sure some of this this current greats could definitely beat some greats in 20's to 80's. in fantasy fight they cant beat them. so no reason for argument.

Vitali a stepping stone? Ask Lennox if he was a stepping stone. I take it you grew up and were a boxing fan of that era? Ha ha ha

Really? They couldn't even beat any HW from their own era.

Yes, definitely barring a cut or something. There's basically no formula for beating Vitali in case you aren't aware. I will say that Ali's style does cause cuts and it's definitely a possibility he wins that way but besides that he's not knocking out or outpointing Vitali Klitschko.

For the record, the only fighters I can see beating Vitali straight up are Joe Louis, Ali and Lewis. But Vitali beats them 7 times out of ten at least.

Take that for what you will but I'm not speaking this way just because I'm a fan, but because I know the sport and styles /attributes make fights. Ring intelligence is key and Vitali is second to none. Not to mention he posesses uncanny reflexes. He would be a very tall task for Ali to beat.
