I assume you were talking about what I said and when did I say that Sergio's wins were not good? As I have stated I just don't think he is as great as you make him out to be, at least not yet. What is so hard to understand about that? And if it seems hard to understand I will try to explain.
Sergio lost to Williams, but I actually thought he won the first one but it was close but not that close. And then he knocks Williams out, and as I have stated already Williams is way way way overrated in my book. He is 2-2 in title fights and lost to a fighter that is little more then a club fighter. Yet somehow many fans believes this equated to greatness, and I am not sure why? Because he is far from a great a fighter nor do I believe he ever will be. And as far as Pavlik is concerned, and I am a big fan, I believe he is very limited straight forward kind of fighter that went far on the skills that he has. But he is still not close to being a great fighter.
I also could not count how many times I heard fans saying how bad Pavlik has been since the Hopkins fight. Because most fans were of the opinion that he fought nothing but soft competition since Taylor, minus Hopkins and before Sergio that is. And just in the last few days I have read many fans claiming Pavlik will get murdered at 168. So, I have to ask how does Sergio become great by beating an overrated fighter and a fighter who many believe will get murdered at 168? I am just asking and if you can answer that question I'm listening.
In closing I will say that I do in fact believe that Sergio's wins were good wins and he looked good winning. But, I also remember a few years back when a fighter beat a 40-1 all time great favorite. Sure it was good win, no really it was a great win, but it sure as hell did not make Buster Douglas into a great fighter. And that is just an example because I do believe Sergio has the skills to be a great fighter. However, as someone else stated I just think it is a little premature to label him a great fighter and they should not cast his bust for the Hall of Fame just yet.
