Twice in 2011, fights have been hyped and fans hyped right along with them.

The first, Timothy Bradley-Devon Alexander, didn’t meet expectations even of purists who are fine with more cerebral action. [Click Here To Read More]

Looking most forward to that FNF on espn, last weeks vlasov/chilemba fight was a nice lil barn barner that was back and forth and I got a feelin this weeks fight will be better than that one.

      Yo Cliff,

Mabuza hasn't won eight in a row by stoppage. Check again.

Also, if Judah is literally walking around in full circles, he might have a medical condition.

Canelo is a superstar in the making and a good underrated figther on BS, but it should tell HBO something when they have the 3rd best matchup of the weekend and they've spent 10x the money.

It doesn't tell them anything though because they just don't get it. If you've already locked in dates... get this... make promoters work together. If you have the deepest pockets and are offering the most money and you want a certain fight, you can force promoters to work together. HBO could've had Rios-Acosta or any other fight on Canelo's undercard if there weren't open dates to give Arum. You think Cameron Dunkin and Acosta's manager would just let Arum turn down an extra quarter mil more than what they got from Showtime just because Arum has some ****** beef with GBP?

HBO executives need to hang them up, if they were boxers, they'd be journeymen, they've taken so many losses.

Broner-Ponce De Leon is an underrated fight this weekend though, so you might have a winner there. The fight launches the winner into a title shot and figures to be competitive.

I agree that Broner-DeLeon is the 3rd best fight this weekend.
Although, I don't begrudge HBO for putting Alvarez in against Hatton. Alvarez is a fun fighter to watch who is still learning and not ready for elite competition yet. I understand HBO wanting to showcase him without seeing him get beat. And Hatton is an honest fighter who will make Alvarez work and probably make him look good. And at least HBO had the intelligence to pair it with a 50-50 fight in Broner-DeLeon.

I'm happy Canelo is making money because Mexico's a poor country and they don't have the food and housing subsidies we have in the USA--but this opportunity is not deserved.
