I have not been on here for a while so if someone else mentioned this..sorry.

But to me it played out the same way with the exception that Acosta was doing a bit of "Mosley" on Rios for a while. If Rios would have held a bit more he would have won. But he took the "Cotto" Route and lost.

Rios even smiled when he was getting rocked too. Acosta let him off the hook a couple of times.

These guys (Cotto and Acosta) need to stop the "machismo" and be smarter and they can win.

Mosley is great example of this.

    Too Cotto and Acosta:

Dont try and beat a one dimensional fighter whose only strength is having a hard head and coming forward by doing the same. Boxing backwards and not holding will get most anyone tired.Use your own strengths to win, box, sit on your punches, stop their momentum by holding and breaking up their charge. Before they set, land hard punches and hold. Wait 45 minutes and hold right arm up in victory.

Maybe because Marquez is a come forward boxer /puncher with a hard head?

And Cotto is Cotto, Acosta is Acosta and Marquez is Marquez...The point is a fighter should play to his strengths to win, not to the opponents.

Marquez is a beast, he boxes very well going backwards and I love the fact he never clinches when hes hurt. He did this during Diaz(1) and Katsidis fight.

Maybe Marquez entertains his fans and isn't a p*ssy like Cotto/Acosta.

Shi.t thread, you're just trying to discredit Rios and Margarito's wins.

More like you have a shi.t brain.

Margarito and Rios played to their strengths and won?
              How can one discredit this?
Especially when the WHOLE POINT is for a fighter to play to his strengths not the opponents.:*******:

I do too. Much respect to JMM but this is not the point. I love the "sweet science" I appreciate ALL aspects and styles of fighting.

This is the kind of dumb **** that ignorant ass posters "think". Some fans like the caveman style(mostly Mexican) of boxing, which is pretty much like the Flintstones, hit me I hit you till one of us falls. Then their are the more knowledgeable fans who appreciate the boxers, the defensive specialists, the thinkers and yes the caveman too etc. Its called the sweet science for a reason. With your thinking Ali is a Puss? Dumb.
