Comments Thread For: Hatton: There is No Doubt That I'll Beat Saul Alvarez

European welterweight champion Matthew Hatton (41-4, 16KOs) is feeling very good about his fight with Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (35-0, 26KOs). Hatton has been looking for a crack at Alvarez for a long time. This Saturday he gets his shot at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Hatton is not bothered by the catch-weight of 150-pounds. The weight allows the the two boxers to fight for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title.

"Matthew... do you believe American is the land of opportunity? Saul Alvarez does, and that's why he's going to give an unknown a shot at the title."

I view Mathat as a coat-tail riding bum, but god knows I love a good upset. War Mat Hat.

Hatton has a couple of decent wins under his belt (Branco, Nuzhnenko) and a draw against N'dou, so I wouldn't call him a bum. There is no doubt that he is out of his depth in this match-up, but if he boxes well and keeps his head, he could go the distance which would be a victory in itself.

As you say, I love a good underdog story, and I will be fully behind Hatton on fight night. I just hope he can give a good account of himself while it lasts.

I have to agree with the above, he will most prob lose this fight by stoppage.

Shame he doesn't have a bit of a harder punch would make so much difference to his fight game.
