But, laughing it up when Arum does it.

    Sigh...

1 promoter running the show is not the best of things. It wasn't good when Oscar wanted/hoping to accomplish it and is not good with Arum doing it.
People bashed DLH because he didnt have the tools to do it and it looks like he gave Arum the idea to do it

But to be fair, DLH just wanted boxing to be under 1 commision, not have 1 promoter

      No, Senor
"The Don Kings and Bob Arums have had a chokehold on this sport for the last 40 years. They've been able to put great fights on, they've been able to promote the sport, yes, but I believe the days are long past of the way they promote. Now, we have to think outside the box; we have to think like the NBA and MLB and have one commission and one major promoter in the sport.

That's one of the reasons I commend UFC for what they have done in such a short period of time; they are the only real player in their category, the mixed martial arts world. They have been able to organize themselves, have all the TV dates, a pay-per-view every month; that's why they are valued at more than $1 billion. They are doing the right thing, and it's time for boxing to do the right thing, as long as we don't have those obstacles named Don King and Bob Arum.

Absolutely. We need to sign all the talent and get all the TV dates; then you can have your own agenda and have a schedule for the fans and the sport. You can do a monthly PPV, a bi-weekly HBO fight, you can have the best fighters fight each other. When you have five or six promoters, it's very difficult."

      -De La Hoya

But he now claims he's in the boxing business while Arum is in the Top Rank business but only because Bob outmaneuvered him and launched a preemptive strike. Bet he'll say he was 'misquoted' again

I just want to see good fights overall regardless of where the cards fall. I don't give a fuck about Arum or Schaeffer. They both can eat a **** for all I care.

Arum doesn't run boxing. JCC Jr. does.

don't care if TR or GBP monopolizes boxing as long as the best fights are made, cause I stream the fights anyways and ain't losing a dime.

marquez no matter how difficult it is to write him off is more than ripe for the picking.

rios too strong, too big, too young, too determined to be deterred by marquez.

Saw it coming. Either a fight against Soto or Rios to earn a November in-house fight with Pacquiao. Neither one of them has a realistic chance against Dinamita, we'll see about Pacquiao.

With Marquez as old as he is, I'm not going to write Rios off completely, though I highly doubt he wins.

as long as there is more than one promotion company it isn't a monopoly.
