  • what's with all the anti-Floyd posts?

Floyd wins a SD imo. Floyd has an ATG defense, possibly the best defensive boxer ever. And has P4P speed. Hearns has exceptional skills too and ATG power and a great right hand, but I think Floyd manages to win a close SD.

When has Floyd fought anything close to Hearns ? Never.

Floyd should be kept out of this discussion as he is no natural WW. Hearns started his pro career at 147 and ended it at 200 lbs...

an awful lot of people don't understand this, and it pisses me off big time

        props for your logical reasoning

LOL at people saying Hearns could be outboxed by the likes of Mosley who has no jab or Mayweather who is a smallish Welter.
          Exactly.

No, Hearns beats him rather reasily. Mayweather is a small WW, defensive counterpuncher without a lot of power. You can't give Hearns a much easier time than that. I really don't understand how people see Mayweather winning. They clearly don't know what they're talking about.

floyd is an amazing inside fighter--what fights have to actually watche kid---i've seen almost every hearns fight and all of floyd's fights--i am a boxing savant--tommy's right hand was rolled by lesser skilled fighters than floyd--and floyd can get inside of tommy's reach and use it against him---

floyd's timing would offset tommy's physical advantages against him--floyd would land that jab to the body to make tommy bring his arms down and make him bend down some also for better body protection--this is what you're not getting--

and i mentioned nothing about his pull counter--i said his counters off of the shoulder roll--tommy does have longs arms--duh--

n'dou had long arms also and floyd took his reach away from him---tommy has a great jab and used his reach well, unlike pal williams, so the jab is his key, but he would have to time it well before floyd adjusts to it--

tommy threw his jab the same way almost everytime--floyd throws his from different angles with the feint--

i don't see how tommy could beat floyd at all--no fighter in history outboxes floyd easily--no fighter--floyd is the most skilled fighter boxing has ever produced---take it to the bank--

I was also thinking that the N'dou fight would be an excellent indicator of how a floyd/hearns fight would go down. Just like Floyd/Tata is exactly how Floyd/Jcc would go down. Floyd's fantasy game keeps getting better and better.

            • I voted Forrest. I think he might have. I also think that prime Mosely and Delahoya would have had a chance, but really probably nobody on that list would have beat the Motor City Cobra @ ww.

Phillip Ndou was so amazing that he never beat a top 50 ranked fighter before or since his fight with Floyd. And had been sparked early by a tomato can prior to the Floyd fight. But he was tall and had some pop, which makes him a perfect surrogate for Tommy Hearns.

Same here, and Floyd doesn't have the kind of power to get Hearns out of there. I still think prime Oscar CLEARLY has the best shot out of that list.
