This doesn't look good at all for Alvarez. He seems ignorant to everything that has happened.

The WBC overlooked many ranked fighters to make the Canelo/Hatton fight a title bout. He hasn't fought nearly enough contenders at 154 to warrant a title shot. And now he's threatning a legend in the sport.

Shame on you, Canelo. You don't deserve a title shot right now. And remember, if you turn out to be half the fighter that JMM is today, then you'll have ended up with a hell of a career.

This gonna be a great exciting fight, Alvarez deserves the title shot just as much as nonito and rios, he has a great record, lots of KO's.

Dont forget that Margarito got a shot for the 154 belt after losing to Mosley at 147.

I think he challenged him out of anger. Saul isn't much of a talker he let's his fighting do the talking. What did you expect him to say? Same goes for Marquez he never said anything bad about Canelo either. Marquez has no problems with Canelo getting a title shot he said it himself in that mock trial they had, his gripe is about Hatton getting a shot.

This post reveals your ignorance of the sport. Nonito Donaire earned his recent titles by beating Montiel, who beat Hasegawa, who was a long-time bantamweight champion. Brandon Rios fought tough prospects like Anthony Peterson to earn his title, and won his title yesterday from a fighter that himself had to win his title. Nobody is defending Margarito/Pacquiao being for a joke vacant title but even in that fight at least Pacquiao and Margarito are proven fighters that have fought other ranked guys.

Saul Alvarez has not earned his #1 ranking. Is Alvarez better than Miguel Cotto, or Alfredo Angulo, or Kermit Cintron, or Yuri Foreman, or Antonio Margarito, or Joel Julio, or even Ricardo Mayorga? No idea, but those fighters have fought legitimate ranked competition in their careers to get their rankings. Matthew Hatton isn't even ranked at 154, he's never even fought at that weight, he's definitely not world-class talent and his biggest claim to fame is being the brother of Ricky. There's no reason why this step-up fight for Canelo should be a title fight.
