Moreno is the longest reining champion at 118 with the most title defenses and the hardest opponent Nonito will face at 118. Even if people think Nonito is gonna win Moreno is the hardest fight he has at 118 and the way to unification and that's why the road for Donaire has to go thru Moreno. Mares-Donaire will never happen because this kuntz don't wanna match their fighters which IMO is hurting boxing. GBP and Top Rank need to stop acting like children and make up for the sake of the sport...

Golden boy should stay away for the good of boxing. Donaire v Montiel 60-40,
      Donaire v Moreno 70-30.

No, I'm from Ireland originally, but now living in Panama City. Yes I was at the fight. Didn't think it was exceptional. The noise for for me-I like a quiet life- dreadful, and a thing I noticed particularly was that the people who got by FAR the most cheers were the ring girls. There were about 15 fights on, the doors open about 4 oclock, I was there by 6.30 and the second fight had just started. The last fight ended about 12.45 a.m. A boxing enthusiasts dream. I didn't even go to the washroom.

On the programme most of them were not 4,6,8 or 10 rounders but 5,7,9 etc. I couldn't find anyone to explain the reason, and none of the fights went to the odd number.

About half way through the evening there was a huge roar, I was told it was Eusebio Pedrosa coming in with a group. Duran seemed to sneak in, He didn't make any "entrance" but I spotted him sitting in a triangular set of reserved seats not far from me and went to say hello. I'd had coffee at his house about a month before. There is a large statue of Duran in a main street here and they refer to him only as El Campion -The CHAMPION. He's a national hero.

By another coincidence, just the week before, in the pharmacy across the rd from where I live, to buy my boxing tickets, at the counter I got talking to a youngish woman who helped me to buy my tickets, (Farmacia Metro, anyone from Panama on this site will know them) and it turned out that she ran the agency of Ring Girls. I should have used to opportunity to 'try" to get friendly with her, but I'm sure she wouldn't have been interested. She spoke good English, but was a tough "cookie".

The reason I describe all this is that so many "co-incidences" seemed to happen to me surrounding the time of this fight, and all to do with boxing. Never happened before and I've lived in many places but had to come to a little country like Panama to have them happen to me.

So you thought the Cermeno, fight that happened in Panama, that Moreno got a gift decision?

          Interesting...

So I'm curious who you thought won the first fight?

On this site, last week or at the begining of this week, one of the better known writers said that Moreno was probably the best "pure boxer" in the sport today. This surprised me as when i saw him he didn't seem that good.

the winner of mares-agbeko imo will get #2 rating while donaire stays still at #1. moreno will be relagated to #3 so no, donaire doesn't have to go through moreno for lineage.

Ring rules that #1 v #2 & #1 v #3 winner gets Ring belt, w/c gets lineal so either moreno or agbeko/mares lineage and undisputed belt will be on the line. If Moreno signs with GB it will be considered ducking, but then there still 2 belts up for grabs, IBF in the tournament and WBA reg from Koki which will garner the biggest dough IMO!

How would it be ducking? Does anyone know if Moreno has even officially been offered the fight or a contract with Donaire yet? If GBP offers him more $ and a multi-fight deal, does that change anything?

                    Just saying.

There hasn't been one shred of concrete, actual news on the making, or not making, of anything yet. Great conversation starting though.

You probably don't mean anything by it, but to a ***, it is extremely offensive, because it is pejorative, and demeaning, just showing that the universal denigration and degredation of ***s by EVERYBODY, for NO KNOWN REASON.....still stays with humanity.
