Tired of Boxes Saying: "Its up to my promoter"

Bull. its ultimately up to the fighter who he wants to fight.

    Just a random thought.

It is the truth that it is up to the promoter. The promoter is in control of paying the fighter and all the fighter cares about is getting paid.

Thats some of the biggest bull Ive heard. The fact that people actually buy into it makes it worse.

Me too. It makes me sick. Once you get to a certain level you have some say so. Post fight interviews can push the issue if fighters would say something besides that. I miss the Ali's, Camachos,Toneys and young Floyds of boxing. They didnt mind running off a short list of guys they wanted to whoop. It makes boxing more exciting.

                  that was funny

but back to the thread. it is bull**** in the case of the top fighters in the sport who say "its up to my promoter"

the promoter can always recommend what fights to take but when you are a top draw or a fighter that has a network paying for your fights (or both) the fighter is in the driver seat

Who pays the fighter? Its the same analogy as an employee saying it does not matter what my boss says I am going to do what I want.

I agree when fighters reach a certain level they can call the shots but they have to be mega stars to do it.
