Boxing is a great form of stand up fighting, especially if you want to really get into the dirty aspects which play really well in MMA especially if you can use knees and elbows.

If a ground specialist wants to round out their abilities boxing is generally a wise choice.

so i wonder what they think about it
I'm a MMA fan and I love how fighters are constantly trying to improve their game. MMA is not a style of fighting like boxing or wrestling, it's a competition where a fighter mixes different martial arts styles. It's a compliment to boxing that 99.99% of MMA fighters use boxing for their punching range.

Everyones taking it as they normally do. The sport has been is constantly evolving and changing since it's inception in North America. At first the Brazilian JJ guys were dominating, then the wrestlers started to gain an advantage, then then strikers who learned how to wrestle started winning, then the Brazilian JJ guys who learned how to strike started winning.

The one thing that MMA has shown is that one art or range of fighting is definitely not enough. A pure BJJ guy may get a sub here and there but he will eventually run into a guy that he cant take down; a boxer may get a good shot in but eventually he will get taken down and submitted; a pure wrestler will control the vast majority of his opponents but eventually he will get submitted or knocked out.

I don't think anyone in MMA has given this latest trend a second thought other than thinking that they need to be well rounded in all aspects of fighting.
