I also, ofcourse, implied "power shots', Wlad could land his jab on a passing by F16 if he wanted to.Comment

have you ever boxed before? when your going into the later rounds dominating after the earlier rounds were a little competitive, do you feel like you now have the opponent timed?
you knwo what he's gonna do and when he's gonna to it? really?
he's either tired, folding or simply put, your upping the tempo and are more focused
timing, HAH!Last edited by SplitSecond; 02-25-2011, 02:51 PM.Comment

Yes I have and at the gym when I have sparred someone who gave me a **** time I usually do much better the next time I had sparred that same fighter because I recognized a pattern in his movements and know at about what speed the punches are coming at me but I am not very good so I am sure world class fighters can do it in mid fight round to round.....so go ahead and deny the existence of timing.Comment

lol, you end up being more aware cuz he's faster, so you gotta be a little sharper and serious, what does that have to do with timing someones movement?Yes I have and at the gym when I have sparred someone who gave me a **** time I usually do much better the next time I had sparred that same fighter because I recognized a pattern in his movements and know at about what speed the punches are coming at me but I am not very good so I am sure world class fighters can do it in mid fight round to round.....so go ahead and deny the existence of timing.
against a slow guy you can relax more, just move on your feet more if you feel they cant move worth sht, still, nuthin to do with timing
reflexes is what your looking for, and that's really only useful for counterpunching and defensive purposes
timing is really just looking at the guy carefully, focusing, and readying yourself to let a counter flyLast edited by SplitSecond; 02-25-2011, 02:58 PM.Comment

Oh, yes, thats why boxers study tapes, pick sparring partners that are alike to their next opponent and gain experience by fighting opponents of waried styles, so that they can expect what their opponent will do in specific situations. And yes, fighting that opponent for six rounds, winning everyone of them and *****g the bastard into a position where he can either charge in head first and knock you out or lose and survive, where you, based on your previous experience and a grain of analytical intelligence that all succesful pros possess will know exactly how your opponent will act.
Its not a rocket science.Comment

Haye has a glass chin.
Here's why:
- was destroyed in 5 rounds by washed up 41 year old light heavyweight bum Carl Thompson.
- KTFO in the 1st round by a bum in the amatuers.
- KO'd in 3 rounds by Solis in the amatuers.
- knocked down, badly hurt and almost KO'd by super middleweight bum Lolenga Mock, any other ref would've stopped the fight, but the fight was in the UK and the biased corrupt British ref saved Haye and let it continue. Super middleweight bum Lolenga Mock got robbed of a 2nd round TKO win over Haye.
- got knocked down and badly hurt by old shot midget Mormeck.
- got knocked down and badly hurt by old shot bum Barrett.
- was stunned and hurt by old shot feather fisted Ruiz, the ropes saved Haye from getting knocked down.Last edited by Steelhammer2011; 02-25-2011, 03:16 PM.Comment

Nothing to do with being more aware, I don't see why someone would be more or less aware the 1st or 2nd time they go in the ring with the same fighter. Its recognizing a pattern of movement and physically adjusting so your reactions take place at a different time, sounds like timing to me.Comment
