It's obvious that they are very close to a deal. And it's obvious that the reason is that Sky put pressure on Haye to make the fight. Respect has nothing to do with it. And the deal Haye is being offered now is a million times better than the deal he turned down in 2009, so the first sentence of your post is totally illogical.Last edited by Dave Rado; 02-25-2011, 12:45 AM.Comment

I really don't know why everyone is so "crazy mad' to get this fight on. If Haye ever gets into the ring against a Klitschko there isn't going to be ANY fight, it'll be the last 4-5 rounds of Oscar -Trinidad, all over again, except that Klitschko will be able to catch up with him and don't forget folks we are talking about a KLITSCHKO.........
Only ONE punch will be needed, and we will have the era of "Horizontal Heavyweights" (I mean the British guys) ALL OVER AGAIN, like we had from the 1920's to the 1990's.
I lived in Ireland until I was 27, did all my boxing there, used to get Ring and many other boxing magazines monthly for years, and of course was treated to a steady diet of british boxing in the newspapers, and the Horizontal British Heavyweight was a standing joke referred to almost everywhere and in boxing reports of any consequence.
Surely even some of you guys have heard of this. I mean "Phainting" Phil Scott was famous for it, and he was only one of many. The standard was VERY low.
Tommy Farr gave Joe Louis one of his toughest ever fights, which went the distance.
Henry Cooper came as close as anyone ever did to knocking Ali out, and was never put down by him.
Bugner went the distance with both Ali and Frazier.
And Haye may be a snake oil salesman who has been ducking the Klitschkos for at least a year and arguably two, and it's true that he hasn't really done anything much at Heavyweight yet, but he would still be the strong favourite to beat any current Heavyweight not named Klitschko. There are no credible independent rankings at present that don't rate Haye at #3. The Ring, boxingscene, ESPN, boxrec, yahoo, you name it, they all rank him at #3.
He has more speed and more power than anyone either of the Klitschkos have faced since Lewis. Unfortunately for him, he also has a poor defence, especially against the jab, and a suspect chin, so he probably will be knocked out - but your assessment, of him in particular, and of British Heavyweights in general, is so ridiculously biased and has so little to do with the facts that it's just laughable.Last edited by Dave Rado; 02-25-2011, 12:47 AM.Comment

I first thought this was an old thread someone had bumped. Then I realised that it was just one more exciting episode in the Awesome Adventures of David Haye. Will he? Won't he? Who will he do it with? Tune in next week for some more bullshit that answers none of these questions.
