Absolutely, everything he does is at a moderate pace. It may have worked for him but maybe he could've been an even greater fighter if he trained with full intensity.

Everyone at my gym trains with more intensity than him. Doing pads and heavy bag with his hands down, at a slow pace.....my trainers would be on him all day for that.

Not that im in the training camps to judge but from the many videos ive seen, he never seems to care too much. Even skipping rope at half pace. When you watch people like Floyd and Manny (the REAL elite), they train like they are about to be eaten by a bear, like their lifes depend on it asif someone was holding a gun to there heads saying 'train hard beyotch!'. Even Floyds skipping seems more intense than cottos Pad work FFS. Now Im a huge fan of Cotto, but I always have that WHAT IF sort of feeling. What if he trained at full pace all the time, would he of had the insane stamina to out last Margo in the fight they had and beat him. Would he of been able to handle Pac a little better if his stamina was on Pacs level?

I dunno... jus sayin thats all. What do other Cotto fans think? I dont want to hear from Cotto haters or no one like that. Just Cotto fans.
You have to understand a few things, a fighter the level of Cotto doesn't allow video taping at all his training sessions. These videos you are watching are nothing but "media day" workouts that happen once every two weeks or so.

He's not going to show anything and the real training happens behind closed doors.

I think Cotto works as hard as anyone else in the business, you just don't see it.

Every fighter goes through very intense routines when they are getting ready for a fight, don't let these videos fool you. Boxing is an intense sport, your ass better be ready for fight night.....

Cotto is looking great and people who say he doesn't train with full intensity are mistaken. Cotto is always ready for fight night and trains just as hard as anyone when the cameras are off.

Ive heard of other boxers you train at a certain pace which seems slow compared to their actual fights. Maybe thats just how he trains. IM a fan of cotto's so lets hope he knows what hes doing. im sure emanuel has it under control. i also noticed his straight right looked strong

Cotto looks for form, but I have to agree that I would like to see him busting his balls once in a while. If Emmanuel thinks He's good, and He has trained for decades, then Whom am I to say sht.
Karate champions train very similar, they look for form.
