Comments Thread For: Khan-McCloskey: Paul Says 'One Punch Can End The Fight!'

Euripean junior welterweight champion Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12KOs) is confident about his ability to snatch the WBA title away from Amir Khan (24-1, 17KOs) on April 16 at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England. Most of the critics expect an easy defense for Khan, but McCloskey is convinced that he can prove the doubters wrong. Most of Khan's fans were anticipating a much bigger American name for Khan's return to the UK. McCloskey believes that he was the best possible opponent for Khan's homecoming.

McCloskey is not good enough to outbox Amir, so he must keep on looking for a lucky punch the whole fight, seems that McCloskey already realized this....

Fool. This fight date was pencilled in long before Wlad and Haye started negotiations.

Even if one punch ends it, people will still find a reason to think Khan is the best light Welter in the world, smh

Well yes, because it's going to be McCloskey who's going to be on the receiving end of that one punch

People think khan is the best light-welter because of his talent and his last 3 big wins (Maidana, Malignaggi, Kotelnik). He now needs to beat Bradley to prove it to the doubters.

***** please, you really think that fight is the reason Haye-Wlad fell apart? One of those two (or maybe both) doesn't want any part of the other, and just need any excuse to get out of the fight.

he won't beat Bradley, I don't think he will fight him, beating Mccloskey not that impressive and mere nobody over here, Malignaggi win, ehh not that big, Kotelnik fight was a big win, Maidana only thing he did was show the world Ortiz is a ***** then showed The world Khan running, Khan don't beat Bradley or Alexander. He would have my respect more if he would at least fought Peterson.

One of the reasons obviously, they probably don't want to fight each other, but the dates they claim is what is holding the fight back.

Khan had the date pencilled, ye but not the opponent; is this really worth a PPV, Khan is world class and do fighters young as khan need tune-ups when they fight just 2/3 a year?

No, they're just protecting him for a showdown with Bradley.

If those wins are no big deal, then Bradley's wins over Holt/peterson/Alexander aren't a big deal either. I notice you say Kotelnik was the only good win there - would that have that something to with him schooling Alexander? Alexander is and always has been overrated

Can't help but notice you seem to think he has to fight an AA to get respect. SMH

I'm pretty sure Khan-Bradley will happen in July. Don't make excuses if Khan wins

Wlad-Haye has been held back for a couple of years now. Something always comes up, and chances are it won't ever happen as Haye has made it clear he's retiring in November, and we know he's not fighting Wlad in April-May. Khan-McCloskey has nothing to do with it

McCloskey will probably lose, but i think it's a step above a tune-up.
