I think that Klitschko would have won, perhaps not by a great amount but since he has lost but a handful of rounds in his whole career maybe by a KO. I regard his pre-Steward as his real prime, by which I mean that he displayed a huge variety of different punches and skills as well as very fast hands and footwork against everybody. He was like an unleashed tiger, until he ran into Sanders, who although that was a good "leftie" punch also followed up immediately with a huge head butt. I think it was the butt-the first of several- that did the damage. Anyway, Klitschko showed a lack of gritty experience in that fight and from that time on with Steward coming into the picture not long afterwards, his whole fighting style changed to a "Lennox Lewis" style as patented by Manny Steward for large oversized heavyweights. Safety first, a pecking left hand ad anuseam and a finishing right hand in an otherwise uneventful fight.

I prefer the earlier Klitschko, and i think he'd beat Holmes. What most people don't seem to realise is that Klitschko actually has a GOOD chin and, as you've all seen, he got caught, but KEPT GETTING UP and was never KO'd, but TKO'd. The Brewster fight should have been stopped in the 3th when Brewster was KD'd after taking a TON of punishment, and Klitschko's immediate collapse thereafter was as su****ious as hell.

In his first loss, against Purrity, his corner called it off after the ELEVENTH ROUND when Klitschko had punched himself out. Until then, he'd beaten Purrity against everything but the ceiling.

He was then only a 22 year old kid in his 25th fight in 24 months, weighing by that time only 225, worn down a bit and not much for a 6' 7" guy. So I think he can be forgiven this, since if it had been a 10 rd'er he'd have won every round.

This has turned more into a discussion on Klitschko than I intended, but it was unavoidable, since there are very many who just don't know the truth about the Klitschko losses and his "weak" chin. In his first Peter fight, where he was down 3 times although not once from a legit punch, (twice from NO PUNCH AT ALL) he still won every other round by a large margin, and in the process took a fair few solid punches from Peter without showing any signs of a weak chin. This was Peter's first defeat, and Klitschko jumped at the chance to fight him and show his chin was good.

And so it turned out to be.

^^^^ I think you are horrendously incorrect buddy - if I had to pick any version of Wladimir to defeat Larry Holmes, it certainly won't be the version you are referencing.

You stated, pre-Steward as his real prime. Before Steward he didn't have the ability to control the pace of a fight, he was reckless, he didn't have the ring smarts he possesses currently.

He is a much more composed fighter now.

Also the way he crouched down and didn't use his height stalking opponents earlier in his career, not the best way to use his attributes.

          This one is easy.

No disrespect to Wlad but cmon. Prime Larry Holmes is a beast. With power in both hands, Granite chin, Razor sharp jab, killer instinct everything.

Larry Holmes KO/TKO within 10 rounds.

Holmes by UD or late TKO...

Holmes could box and move on Wlad for numerous rounds against slow Wlad...

Wlad's jab isn't in the same ballpark as Holmes'
