Comments Thread For: Giovani Segura, Roman Gonzalez Start Trading Words

Mexico's Giovanni Segura (26-1, 22KOs) will face Ivan Calderon on April 2 in Mexico in a junior flyweight rematch. Segura is a heavy favorite in the bout. Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (27-0, 23KOs) plans to make the first defense of his crown, also in Mexico, but on March 19.

after giovani dismantles calderon for the second time, he should really push for a Chocolito fight! Too bad Roman isn't really known except by hardcore boxing fans, so I don't think Seguras camp would be all that down. Segura is definitely more known than Roman....waaar chocolito!!!

I hope Segura doesn't move up in weight after his fight with Calderon.

The two best actions in the lower weight classes are Segura-Gonzalez and Segura-Concepcion.

One or both need to happen.

According to Boxrec, Gonzalez is facing Chango Vargas in March.

Gonzalez should win, although I like Vargas and respect him a lot. It seems he has the 'I'll fight anyone' type mentality.

Even if he doesn't deserve this title shot.
