I agree..Calzaghe has been inactive for 9 months..but because he defeated the #1 welter 9 months ago, instead of a damaged goods fighter..and states he only fights once a year..and didnt take title fights with non-ranked fighters just to fool the boxing world and stay busy..I cant be too upset..but yeah Calzaghe could always come back and just fight someone who was just beaten to make himself look better...I agree.

IMO Joe, Floyd, HOP and the rest of the VIP should not overwrite active fighters who are earning the promps. Unless you are recovering from an injury or surgery Hell NO. After a boxer retire He walks away from his record and ranking. After you retire, does you job hold you position? Will they still celebrate your acomplishments and send you bonuses?
Less get real here, once you walk away you are Gone and only if you get back and regain your position by earning it once more then and only then you deserve the recognitions.
