My main beef from this article: He's quoting Arum...from 2008. Not only is this ridiculous, but let's think about what Arum was giving HBO in 2008:

and in 2011 is giving us this:

Why is Arum the "moses." If Arum was the moses to lead HBO, he'd drive them into hell just like he did Versus. I like how Hauser never mentions that. He criticzes GBP's deal with HBO and then applauds Arum, but Arum gave Versus way ****tier fights then HBO ever did.

The first half of this article isn't a "How to improve HBO" article, but once again to slag on Ross Greenburg. Sure they have made some mistakes, but the first half of 2011 for HBO is miles and miles better than it has been. Bradley-Alexander was considered to be a disapointment by many, but I think they did a good job minus promosing the loser a return date. However, I am interested in Mythasse vs Alexander, so that's fair game to me.

He completely ignored the progress HBO has made this year.
    I feel ya....

HBO, Showtime, and ESPN need to work cooperatively to build their product. ESPN, NBC, CBS and NFL Network all show football and while they compete economically to get the best games, they don't sabotage each other. ESPN shows highlights of the games on CBS, NBC will preview playoff schedules- including the games that are on CBS and ESPN. Boxing is too fragmented.

The sound you will hear in the distance is laughter from the Klitschkos when Ross Greenburg gets canned at HBO.

The NFL is in charge. ESPN, NBC, CBS don't cooperate, but it's in their best interest to show highlights of games that are not shown on their broadcasts.

boxing a minimum needs something like a league.

He's not some corrupt little skivvy writer who has to sell his soul to make a buck. A man with his reputation for excellence would have to be literally insane to put his reputation at risk by engaging in corrupt practices.
So what, that is like giving an award to the tallest midget~ plus it seems like all that has gone to his head~ Mitch Albom is a much more respected writer than Hauser and he made up a story so being a respected writer that has done a lot of good work doesn't mean they are without flaws.

He has personal beef against Ross Greenburg and wants to get him fired for said beef it is well known and he lets that color how he depicts HBO. He is obsessed with it.

Sorry it is plainly obvious if you followed this since the beginning, once he gets off that obsession and back to reality maybe I will listen to what he has to say again

Of course it's ****** as hell. Just like having Arum tell us how a network should do it's job is a conflict of interest and idiotic. If Arum was getting his way no matter what the ratings were or how many golf trips Greenburg and Davis were taking everything would be peaches.

He was the main source. These articles are as much about how HBO isn't doing a good job as they are about how Top Rank is royalty and Arum is God.

Very good article. Glad to see there are still people out there who care for the sport of boxing, hopefully HBO can get its **** together, revamp the staff at HBO sports, and build a solid foundation for reemerging as the dynasty it once was in boxing, for the sake of HBO, the fighters, and the fans.

Yeesh. Hauser is respected and knowledgable, but this thing is way too long and there's way too much, "I said...," "I said...," "I said." As people have noted, as usual Houser is pro-Top Rank and this article reads like he's running for the job of being HBO's boxing guy.
