  • Comments Thread For: DiBella Responds, Battles Arum Over Berto vs Ortiz

It didn't take long for promoter Lou DiBella to respond to the latest criticism from Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who is not exactly thrilled with Andre Berto's upcoming defense of the WBC welterweight title against Victor Ortiz. The fight takes place on April 16. A few days ago, Arum and DiBella traded words over the upcoming fight. He believes Berto (27-0, 21KOs) should be fighting unbeaten welterweight Mike Jones (24-0, 18KOs), and not Ortiz.

Another second round KO.... Dibella has some great points... which means... all promoters are full of ****!!!!!!

Berto and Ortiz is as bad if not worst than what Bob has offered in the past... and for that matter the rest of the greedy promoters that think only of their bottom line and not of the fans that are actually paying their salaries.

Jones vs. Soto-Karass 2 OR Berto-Ortiz??? NO BRAINER!!! DiBella and Arum are both just greedy-ass promoters, but at least their PR smack-talk is somewhat reasonable. Berto-Ortiz is a garbage fight and DiBella probably did offer Jones to fight Berto, BUT DiBella FAILED to mention HOW MUCH was the offer to Jones!!!

            Hey!

Some people still like Mayorga =/

I like the Cotto/Mayorga fight, even if its just a money grab tune up, because I like both fighters.

But on the topic...Arum should really not comment on other people's shows. I mean...he just put Soto-Karass on a co-feature last night, the same Soto-Karass who was beat by the 'bus-boy' F. Hernandez.

These people should just work together and do what they can to promote each other and other shows. Act in good faith and get **** done for the betterment of the fans and the fighters

I like Mike Jones but Berto destroys Mike Jones and if he didn't do that he would have him tired by round 8 and win an easy decision if he didn't KO him early.

Bob Arum, the man that had an agenda and presented Pac with a horrible 2010 with matching him up vs shop worn and or destroyed fighters on a losing streak don't have much room to talk at all.... Especially since he cant even make a fight between two guys he has promoted at one point.....

Berto-Ortiz sounds like a good fight cuz they're both good, young fighters. Except this isn't a video game or a messageboard where you just jump weights against quality opponents like nothing-- Berto will destroy Ortiz.

Unless you're elite like Floyd, Pac, Donaire, etc.

berto and ortiz is a good fight for both of them.while bob arum is attacking this fight. is'nt shane mosley a old bus boy? pac deserves to fight better but i understand that this is the only style pac can look good against. that old, flat footed, shot, and weight drained big names that are'nt at their best.

I never get tired of Arum getting put in his place by Dibella for acting righteous yet being a hypocrite.
