idk, Quezon said, " I would rather see a Philippines being run like hell by Filipinos than a Philippines run like heaven by Americans".

It was an election time when he said that, but he himself didn't believe what he said.

Why? you got to study our history first.

I would never claim Donaire as American. He obviously has American influence since he now has spent more of his life here than the old country but I only consider people actually born here Americans(boxing wise).

Donaire is not American and neither are Mexicans but people from Puerto Rico are. Technically Donaire is American as well(he has citizenship) but he wouldn't of even needed to apply for one had he been born about 50 years ago.

Donaire sons and daughters will be American with Filipino decent though.

I think so, but tbh I'm not really sure. Either way I still consider a child born in America, American(regardless where the parents were born). Nonito wasn't born here so he is obviously Filipino first, but he is also American. I'm sure a lot of people that immigrated here, if you told them they weren't American they would be upset because they seen their parents bust their butts to come here. Nonito isn't American in boxing terms but as a person he is American.

He tried to qualify for the Olympics as an American. Although I don't know if the Philippines even have a boxing team.
