the ref did a decent job, however my only problem is that he should have stopped in when montiel was in the ground if he was going to stop it. I mean montiel actually had his hands up when the ref stopped it. It's like the ref got him up for nothing??? Really but it's an understandible mistake after that vicious knock down. I really love montiel but thats his problem he can't really take big shots like that. Mares probably woulda stood to the punch but im wondering if he is too green to face donaire i mean the dude is on top of the world. But i think due to style donaire mares would be similar to donaire vs concepcion with donaire ud but struggling. I gotta admit this fight was a heart breaker but oh well thats boxing..
