Nicolino Locche, Hall of Fame great, passed away on Wednesday of heart failure. The Argentinian master boxer, a glory of Latin American boxing, won the WBA Jr Welterweight title in 1968 by stopping Paul Fujii in Japan and defended his crown five times before losing it to Panamenian Alfonso Frazer in 1972. Locche's final record was 117-4-14 (14 KOs). He was probably one of the greatest defensive boxers of all times and was nicknamed by his legions of adoring fans "El Intocable" (The Untouchable One) because of his artistry. One of his greatest victories was his 15 round decision over another Hall of Fame great, Antonio Cervantes (the Colombian evened the score in a rematch). Locche was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2003.
RIP to the hall of famer.
