could jeff lacy have become something special had he not ran into calzaghe. People say he was overrated anyway and although that might be true, the beating he got from calzaghe was enough to demoralise any man and stop them from ever being the same again. Before the calzaghe fight he was being called the next mike tyson for how he devasted his opponents but after the fight he lost to a faded jermain taylor and roy jones, both by wide margins and i dont even want to speak of his last fight. But what do you guys think, if it was not for calzaghe could jeff lacy have been in the sort of position jean pascal is in now?

A top 168 lbr? For sure but guys like Froch, Ward, Bute would always beat him.

In many ways he was like Tyson in that he broke mentally + he did not have the ability to change his style or fight any other way.

He shouldn't have allowed the Calzaghe fight to mentally scar him Calzaghe is one very very special guy none of the 168'rs today are even in his league tbh. Lacy should have continued with a stronger will to win after that fight but that showed his mentall weaknesses.

lacy always ******. this is called reality. watch his fights. he was losing to some guy named donnell wiggins before getting a stoppage. he was losing to syd vanderpool before getting an early stoppage. he had a super close fight with omar sheika. he clubbed robin reid in the back of the head for 4 knockdowns. does any of this say great talent to you? he actally had 2 of his better wins post calzaghe and he looked just as crap in those wins as his fights before calzaghe.

I mean that works when you're stronger than everybody else but Lacy had them beach muscles. Calzaghe could have rolled Lacy up and put him in his car boot - and that's why he b.eat him so easily.

Froch would probably have put Lacy on a stretcher.
