Quick question - What makes a fighter a living legend in boxing?

Just been thinking about this and not to sure when in particular it's best you can start calling someone a living legend.

I know for sure Bernard Hopkins is one but what remedies him being called that? Is it due to the fact that he was a credible champio, but is now past his prime.

Now if that's the case, would you then apply it to the likes of say Mayweather Jr? as his physical skill set is slipping.

Having accomplished a lot and being alive?

Fighters such as Hopkins, RJJ, Mayweather and Pacquiao are living legends just to name a few

I think also you have to have a large personality out of the ring.

I really wouldnt put Mayweather in this group... Although he's got talent to spare, he never has been in any really exciting fights. Hes clearly dodged the best fighters. He is however alive....

If he fights Manny, Cotto, berto, alexander and Bradley.... I would call him a legend.. Even if he looses a couple.

these days, the term "legend" has been watered down way too much that you just need to have enough nuthuggers to be called a living legend.
              ...not to mention profitable.

Mayweather has to fight all those guys in your eyes to be considered a legend? haha alright. I'm not even a big Mayweather guy but that is just ******.

I think you shoud add Hearns, Leonard, Duran, Robinson, Whitaker, Walker
