You guys see the Guerrero fight on fnf today? The guy had that place filled with crazy fans. He hasnt even hit the big times, but the guy has a great following. He already has more fans then Berto and Pwill put together. I just don't get why more promoters do it this way. Think long term not short term dumb ass promoters

You're over simplifying it
Williams fought a good part of the beginning of his career around his home town
Sometimes people just dont take interest in their own fighters
The only reason they held the fight in Guerreros home town is because they known there would be a good turn out. That doesnt mean every fighters hown town will treat their fighter like canada treats bute and lemuiexComment

I'm pretty sure that the majority of new fighters usually start out their careers in their own hometown. The problem promoting these new fighters is when you have fights that are away from his usual fanbase. If I was trying to make a name for myself, I would bring at least a 100 people with me from my hometown to each fight. Of course the fighter has to be worth watching but promoters at these venues like to see ticket sales. If you can fill the seats - more attention will come your way.Comment
