At least you don't have to be in GBP in order to fight their fighters

Chris John=Golden Boy, Gamboa/Lopez=Top Rank. Guess which of these two will fight each other first and will probably not fight John because the ****ty promoter Bob Arum.
Very true, I hate to say it but this GBP/TR situation is keeping some of the best fights from the fans.

As a matter of fact Mosley had to become a free agent to get his shot at Pac & Marquez had to cancel the Morales fight and let his contract with GBP expire before he became a top contender for Pacquiao's next opponent.

to all those who think top rank is helping the sport we are supposedly fans of.

This is like trickle down economics. So what if arum's a good business man. So are 99 % of sports owners, doesn't mean their actions help their game. How is one giant promoter refusing to work with another major promoter good for the sport?

Defend that and your not a boxing fan!!!!!!!!!!!!

is that because gbp didn't try to get a manny fight? Or because top rank won't copromote?

What do you say to that?

GBP have to do business with others, their stable is what, 30? How many are in the same division? Not that many.

Both Mosley & Marquez have been campaigning for a shot a Pacquiao for some time now. What's changed from last year til now? I rest my case.

Are you saying Mosley & Marquez weren't getting paid at GBP, Mosley is part owner, isn't he? I'm almost certain he's still getting paid off of GBP fights, so why'd he become a free agent? & why is he now worthy of fighting Pac.

In fact, none of us know why things happen the way they do, we're not in the loop, but i'm just putting 2 and 2 together.

Mosely has some shares from GBP, but apparently someone from GBP said he can take his cheque which was only worth a few thousand LOL.

If Shane is a share holder, then he only gets paid the dividends, which is the profit. He doesn't get paid a salary like a CEO. If you know business and shares, then you may have understood.

Mosely won't get any money off fights that are made from GBP until the end of the business year.

Mosely and JMM did get paid fighting of course, but clearly something is wrong for Barerra, Mosely, and JMM to leave as fighters. Heck I am sure more will leave, but then that is with all promoters too.

Whether he is worthy of a Pac shot or not, is not what I am talking about, but for the record, I preferred Berto.

As for being a free agent, anyone can own part of a company, and own part of another. Anyone can be a fighter, and own a company. So Mosely being a free agent just means his contract ran out and he can go anywhere.

Fighters have either a time line in their contract or a number of fight deals.
