That's not what i mean. I meant that all the big fights happen on US soil. If a fight has any chance of selling to the American public, it happens in America. If might not be a great atmosphere and if it was in Britain they probably would sell more but that isn't what the promoters are looking for. Lets put it this way, when a fight happens in Britain like most cities people come from that area to see the fight and go home. Vegas on the other hand isn't a city with a huge population, it's a vacation city. If you're going to Vegas you're staying a few days, ******** at the casino, and doing other various things. This is why Mandalay/MGM Mirage can afford to pay crazy site fees. They make their money back because of all the other things going on that the vacationer is doing. It makes sense when you break it all down.

sure...i understand the commercials....but what u said was 'the US runs the sport'....it doesnt...it just buys the biggest fights because it has the means to in terms of ancillary revenue streams. so 5000 people get to see it live rather than 50,000. makes great sense for the venue but it sucks for the fans .....as usual!

it will be lucky to do 1/10th of that in paid tickets bought by boxing fans.

probably 4,000 tickets sold and another 2,500-3000 freebies given to tourists, gamblers and random people off the street

Ah! So how's that work? Random people or even boxing fans ask for those free tickets?

Hey bro, More people will come to this than the Bradley-Alexander or Khan-Maidana...I bet it gets close to 10,000 people. Remember Khan-Maidana was a couple weeks before the holidays and Bradley fought in the dead of winter in Detroit.

Vegas in July is hot as hell but everyone is in the AC in the casinos anyways plus this will be a unification bout and I both Bradley and Khan are both more well known since their last fights.
