I'm still a fan of Rigondeaux even though everyone jumped ship because of his lackluster performance last time out, but dude had only 6 pro fights. It's hard to shake that amateur style after doing it for so long. He just really needs to be more offensive and he'll be solid.

he doesnt have that kind of time, hes already old for his weight class.
And if he continues facing weak opposition, hes simply going to fade away without doing anything in the sport. Which is what Ive always predicted since I saw his second or third professional fight.
Gamboa is already more accomplished than Rigondeux will ever reach as professional, imo

all he needs to do is be more aggressive. That's it. Literally. Doesn't need to fix anything, just simply throw more punches.
That's a state of mind. Something he needs to do himself.
whether or not he will do that who knows. you may be right as I'm sure it's hard to unlearn something he's been taught for so long but others have done it.

yep, he had that guy hurt, then he let his opponent off the hook cause he got hit...

you cant really force yourself to throw more punches if youve never done it before. a lot of the time you watch fights and see a guy landing at will and think 'why doesnt he just throw more?!', but in reality if he was throwing more not only would he not be landing at such a high percentage, but hed also be getting hit more.
I saw it in Rigondeux's second or something fight against a bum, he simply didnt know how to fight offensively...his whole game was countering. He may be very good at that, but a quality fighter that understands that and has the tools to either force him to lead or smother him in close would essentially take him to school.
I have an odd feeling he will never end up being tested however, and just feast on bums for weak title defenses until he feels like retiring.
