Ortiz starts Training camp "Berto is overrated"

Found this little snippet in an article on the ring website.

"I’m so ready for Berto,” said Ortiz, who already has opened his training camp in Ventura, Calif. “Actually, I don’t want to sound ****y, but Berto’s whole career just came to an end. From what I hear, he’s underestimating me because I’m a junior welterweight. I don’t know if he recalls being next to me, but I’m a lot bigger than he is.

“All I know is that I’m going to take the belt. In my eyes, Berto is overrated. He hasn’t been tested against a fighter such as myself.”

Ortiz said he has no concerns about moving up a weight class.

“No concerns whatsoever in speed, power or anything else,” he said.

Ortiz said he made the decision to move up to take advantage of an opportunity to fight for a title, which had eluded him at junior welterweight even though he’s ranked No. 1 by the WBO (Timothy Bradley’s belt) and in the Top 10 in the remaining three major sanctioning bodies.

Berto is THE RING’s No. 3-rated welterweight. Ortiz is the No. 9 junior welterweight.

“No one wanted to give me a shot,” he said. “I remember when I lost (to Marcos Maidana), everyone wanted to fight Victor Ortiz. Now that I won a few fights, they’re saying ‘Victor who?’ I don’t appreciate that.

“I got my big fight, though. And I’m very ready.”

There you go, he admitted to being bigger, me personally, I've said they're the same size. If Ortiz can maintain a strong mind throughout the fight then he can win this, he's better than Berto to be perfectly honest. Berto stops him though

both are ,or were over rated.

berto hasnt had his chin and heart tested yet,but ortiz definately failed his test.and ortiz has no boxing iq,and no killer instinct.

i think both are quite well matched, both fast, both have some power, both not that great defensively.

Berto is overrated. But Ortiz quit against Maidana. That will always be hanging over him. I'm looking forward to this. I have Berto by UD.

Personally i think Ortiz will take this, i cant imagne his hungar going into this fight, he has been callig out some of the top 140 guys for a while with no luck, he is hungry for that belt and knows a win could put him in there straight with the big boys like mayweather, pac etc....

I would put his boxing IQ much higher than Berto. Berto lacks good foot work Berto boxes as if he has cement post attached to his feet.I pick Ortiz either to stop the chinny Berto or score a 12 round unanimous decsion over the over rated Berto. If Berto wins it will be from assistance from the judges.
