Thats cool if its competitive. Alexander earned his spot by tryin to get an Oscar "Ahh its burning". He will soon be forgotten. Paul definitely drops but not out of sight. Perfect punch gets anybody some sleep.

I would tend to agree but Donaire hasn't fought real competition yet since his impressive KO over Vic which is frustrating because he's such a talented fighter. Montiel has been awesome lately and I would still take nothing away from him if he loses, he's earned huge respect for going over Japan and winning in such a incredible fashion.

montiel has alot to gain winning this fight, and almost nothing to lose.

If they both put on ****ty performances (like Bradley and Alexander) they should both be removed from the top 10. So no, they should not both automatically be in the top 10 if they dont deserve it.

Loser gets dropped no matter what. These guys are neither stone cold P4P kings so the loser doesn't have the same rights to the list as a JMM or Pacquaio would if they lost.
If we went by your argument, Paul Williams should of stayed P4P. Not only did he accomplish more as a P4P fighter(moving up 3 weights) but he also fought a higher P4P ranked fighter in Martinez. We are not making exceptions for Montiel who is new to the rankings or Donaire who doesn't deserve to be on the list in the first place.Last edited by Check; 02-17-2011, 04:59 AM.

For me, both stay top 10 contenders after a loss, but a lot of others would probably scratch Donaire from their lists if he loses because of the unspectacular resume after Darchinyan (although the Sidirenko win was very impressive and underrated).
I think it was different with Alexander and Williams, because those two had big question marks before their losses to Bradley and Martinez already and then got dominated.
