When a sanctioning organization orders a fight and the promoters can't reach an agreement, it goes to purse bid. Any promoter can anonymously put in a bid as to the purse of the fight. Highest bid wins.

The diamond belt is on the line is well. I don't know why the writer didn't include to say the Ring Belt is also on the line but obviously it is since Pascal currently owns the Ring belt (and hopkins is rated #1 by the Ring).

Golden Boy Promotions won the purse bid for the upcoming rematch between WBC/IBO light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal, and former champion Bernard Hopkins. The fight is a rematch of last December's controversial twelve round draw. Golden Boy, who promote Hopkins, put in the winning with a bid of $1.9 million, while Pascal's promoter, Groupe Yvon Michel, put in a bid of $1.7 million.
