Mayweather: "14 day deal was off the table a year ago"

All of the talk that Manny is willing to take the random blood tests, and Floyd has not responded to the challenge of Manny Pacquiao is completely false. Mayweather went out of his way to make this fight happen. He agreed to everything Team Pacquiao wanted and they have not accepted one of Mayweather's requests.

The 10 million dollars per pound over the limit penalty, Floyd accepted, 8oz gloves Floyd accepted, and a 50/50 purse split Floyd had accepted. His one request was and still is that Pacquiao agree to Olympic style random urine and blood tests all the way up until the fight. Here’s where the problem in the negotiations arose. "They wanted to be notified when the testing would take place and they didn't want any testing done within 14 days prior to the fight." said Mayweather to Fight Hype.com. Originally a deal wasn’t able to be made with random testing all the way up until the fight. Team Mayweather then reached out to Team Pacquiao and agreed to a 14 day cut off period so the fight could be made. Team Pacquiao then asked for a cut off period of 24 days.

Pacquiao decided it would be better for him to fight Clottey in March of 2010, instead of taking a mega fight with Mayweather. Back in February of 2010 in an interview with David Mayo in his hometown of Grand Rapids, Floyd stated that the 14 days was off the table and that it was only a one time deal. “I gave him a chance, up to 14 days out. But my new terms are all the way up to the fight. They can come get us whenever, just as long as they agree to random testing all the way up until the fight. That’s what it is,” Mayweather said. “If it was all about money for me, I would’ve said ‘I don’t care what Manny Pacquiao does, just give me the money, I’ll take it,” he said. “But it’s me taking a stand for something that means something. And it’s for the fighters who are up and coming.”

“It’s sort of the same stance Martin Luther King and Malcolm X made, so we could have freedoms, so everybody could tell the world that we’re equal. The only thing I’m saying is that we are equal. So if you’re not on nothing and I’m not on nothing, then let’s go take the test. That’s all I’m saying."

The real question should be is why was it conviniently off the table when Manny agreed to it?

it was off the table when floyd fought mosley. manny agreed well his team did after floyd took it off the table. why didnt manny agree when floyd said 14 days in the first place? why is there a cut off in the first place? why does everyone have to compromise to manny when he dont want to compromise to anyone else? he doesnt even make the most money

There you go. Just goes to show Mayweather wants none of Pac.

I just hope someone asks him who he's fighting next if not Pacquiao.
Just a list of fighters. He doesn't have to name one.

Let's just move on and focus on Saturday night's fights. No sense
              in talking about this ****.

This is just an opinion, not official news, and I don't see any proof of anything here as usual. This is just some random guy's blog.

wow amazing, the guy really takes ducking to new means, why cant he just be straight and tell the truth instead of making these bs reasons. why does everyone under mayweather promotions dont do random testing? why did floyd not do it vs hatton or marquez?

funny how floyd always manages a way to avoid the fights against his prime weight class guys.....

Why lie? That offer was offer the table WAAAAAAY before Manny "agreed". Floyd spoke about that offer being gone in February of 2010. You want the link?

Stop trying to change history with this "soon as Manny agreed Floyd took the deal off the table" non-sense. Reality and time doesn't support that lie.
