It is sad to see such a great champion and quality person slowly wilt away to cancer.

My thoughts are with him and his family.

Wow...just sad. Seeing my Grandfather succumb to Cancer, it's just a horrific thing to deal with.

All the best to him and his family.

God bless you Genaro Hernandez. A great champion in the ring and a great person outside of it.

I saw him at the Maywood fights a couple of weeks back and he looked to be in good health and spirits so to hear he is not doing well really makes me sad. Great person to know

I avoided this thread at work earlier as I lost my dad (age 49) in March of last year to lung cancer. Easily the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. Watching your dad slowly get weaker and weaker and become more helpless as each day passes. The sight of watching your dad, your hero, trying to pull himself up a set of stairs and still trying to smile because he was thinking of you will remain with me forever.

Anyway, as I sit here with a tear....

I'll be truthful and tell you I have no knowledge of GH's career but I can assure you I have nothing but sympathy for his friends and family, its a tragic, horrible thing to experience.

Sad news. Genaro has always been one of the good people in boxing.
