It saddens me to say this but the 140lb weight division needs Khan to carry the torch right now. If Paul by some stretch of the imagination beats Khan 140 dies. Though I like Bradley but he is so not marketable. Alexander well.... he's Alexander. Kotelnik is a good fighter but nothing to write home about. Americans wont follow McCloskey. We'll watch Maidana but he needs another A class boxer to keep our attention. I think Tim is A level but a match with him and Maidana would be painful to watch for twelve rounds. Im not a big fan of Amir but he is the only polished guy in the top 5 right now. A loss to McCloskey would stop all the momentum he built up. Thats why I had a problem with him taking the fight. If he wants to take a chance with that chin then he should do it against the best or else he can lose the gamble and take money out of the pockets of everybody in the division. Like him or not honestly he carries the weight of the division into this fight, right or wrong?
Lets say McCloskey whips Khan........

I dont doubt that but a loss to Bradley wouldnt hurt his career as much as a loss to McCloskey. Its a good move for his purse right now but a loss or a shi tty performance affects a whole division negatively. The divisions that have thrived always needed a golden child or either an "unbeatable" monster. He's De la Hoya 2011 for JWW's. On the average Americans wont be chekin for this fight. If he loses the consensus will be "Ahh another Euro hype job" and it would be warranted. It could also close the door on Khan and then what does that one big purse count for?
Yeah that thread is about hype and from what I can see there really isnt any hype in the western world. Here its more like "what the hell is he doing."Comment
