Do You Believe Floyd Mayweather Jr Is Finished With Boxing?

Zab Judah mentioned in a radio interview that Mayweather himself told him he was "finished" or would at least take a few years off, away from the sport. If either is true, it all but eliminates the dream match up with Pacquiao because he has been quoted as saying his own retirement will probably manifest within 6 fights time, or approximately 2 years.

Is Mayweather for real this time, do you believe he'll retire from the sport permanently, or will he take up to three years off and then return? Or, is it all talk and Mayweather has no real intention of leaving boxing at this point?

Here's the Zab Judah interview and a controversial video about Mayweather by Men Take Bubble Baths :

    Old news.

Floyd doesn't have enough money to retire given his lifestyle. He will be back.... the question is will it be against solid competition or a showcase fight?

I think he'll return. He was deep in debt before all the legal problems so he'll have to. He will want to return against a safer than usual opponent so HBO and the big money networks may not cover it.

As long as Pacquiao continues to remain an active fighter, Floyd will continue his vacation

He will retire until Manny gets beat or looks bad winning. Who else can he fight?
            Mosley - check.
            Marquez - check.
Williams - hells no, too risky
Martinez - hells no, too risky although a bs catchweight of 149 or something might tempt
Cotto - hmm... in decline. Possible. Nah, too risky.
            Margarito - see Cotto.
            Berto - who?
Khan - hells no, too fast, too accurate, too young.
            Ortiz - haha. Okay, maybe.
Bradley - hells no, too much everything... like a blacker Hatton with skills. Hmm... hang on...
Alexander - Can't sell out a shoebox in Pontiac.
Hatton (Matthew) - Not a chance in hell, barely European level. Hang on, sounds perfect!

If he's going to be inactive for even a year he should just retire.

Then we'll be able to have a boxing thread not dedicated to either Floyd or Pac!

Exactly. He's too ****** with his money to be retired for good. He'll come back eventually.

Well, yeah. Pacquiao fans actually want to see him fight Mayweather, whereas too many Mayweather fans seem content to just let the fight never happen.
