Yes.

Actually the very first person I heard mention Manny P at all was Larry Merchant. I think it was after a Barrera-Morales fight (but I'm not certain of this) and they were talking about the winner (Barrera ) being the best in the world etc. Then Merchant said that
Well, he'll have to reckon with Manny Pacquiao pretty soon as I hear he'd go up to Featherweight to fight the best and I don't know how he'd handle Pacquiao's killer left hand, no one else can. (I'm paraphrasing) And that was YEARS ago.

I'd never heard of Manny P before that, and it caused me to be interested in him. I still am.
