I was thinking this dude must have just tuned into the sport in asking people how they can be a fan of Tua. The question is how can you not be a fan?

He has never won a world title and Lennox Lewis destroyed him ffs! Journeyman Monte Barrett even beat him in his own backyard recently. I don't get how a boxer can have so many fans that want his **** in there mouth without achieving anything of note in his career. Is David Tua the most overrated boxer of all time?
you must've watched his fights in the 2000's.

most tua fans liked him in the 1990's.

when he was young and up and coming he was quite entertaining.

go watch the tua-izon and tua-ibeabuchi fights.

he was also famous for his late ko's coming from behind like tua-maskaev.

in addition to his 1st round ko's like tua-ruiz.

Unlike his peers ( Holyfield, Rahman, Briggs), Tua is not as "shop worn" and his fights are still entertaining. The Monte Barrett fight last year was very exciting and you'd have to be a stiff if you didn't enjoy seeing Tua punchout Shane Cameron several years back.

sack up and watch some of his fights. some of them are very short.

two first round kayos of former / soon to become champions

he was a human highlight reel in his prime

the ring has him 49 on their greatest punchers list

he could blast a guy out in any round but didnt have to rely on that ability alone to win a fight.
he could throw a volume of punches
he was very slippery for a guy who wanted to be so close

                    he's not a HOFer
and he was never a champion

but he was a very good fighter in his day with some great performances
