well not only that, but it was his first pro fight! Who the hell fights the heavyweight champion of the world in their first fight? I mean the Creed fight was an exhibition match so that didn't count. Yeah Ivan had a great amateur career (100-0) and winning a gold medal, but he never fought as a pro. I feel Balboa took advantage of his inexperience.

If Ivan had a few more fights under his belt, maybe a fight with Clubber Lang and a couple other guys he could have beat, he would have been ready.

Ivan Drago should have beaten Rocky Balboa by wide UD or late stoppage, Period. He fought the wrong fight against a smaller man.

Drago needed to fire his trainer and hook up with Emanuel Steward. It was disgraceful the way he gave up his height and allowed Balboa to suck him into a firefight. Had he worked behind a jab, this fight would have been academic. This is like John Duddy shocking Chad Dawson, it's ridiculous.

On the flipside, Balboa should have demanded unlimited testing for PEDs. There's just something fishy about that Drago.. IMO had NSB been around when this fight occurred, there would have been a huge uproar over how ****** Drago's gameplan was. So, if these two were to fight again and Drago adjusted his strategy. Ali took boxing to the mainstream. Creed took it to the next millenium. His entrances makes the klits entrances look like a funeral. The ringwalk to 'Living in America' has only been topped by Abraham in the Smurf costume.

To this day I think if Mayweather entered the ring and copied that entrance.. Full top hat and cane.. He'd actually have fans rooting for him. Everyone would accept that it was copied, and love it for how awesome it was.
