Great news for Luis Collazo fans

    Collazo a free agent

********* was informed moments ago that former world champion Luis Collazo (30-4, 15 KOs) is officially a free agent as of 12:01AM today. That is when Collazo’s contract officially expired with long time promoter Don King. Collazo has not fought since June of 2009. “I’m just hoping for the best possible situation for Louie and a very good 2011 for him,” stated Nirmal Lorick who is Collazo’s trainer/advisor. Lorick has worked with Collazo since Luis was 11 years old.

Lets hope he can get himself going again soon and go for a world title hes still got plenty a time.154 just got more loaded

I'd like to see Collazo vs. Alvarez down the line.

Ya if Alvarez does what is expected and takes the WBC title and Collazo looks good at 154 id like to see it aswell but there are so many fights at 154 now its almost ridiculous the talent.Would be a big step up for Alvarez if Collazo holds the weight well at 154

I WANT TO SEE HIM FIGHT ANDRE BERTO NOW

Al haymon probably paid don king to shelf luis so everybody would forget about the beating he put on berto

why the hell didnt berto rematch collazo for one of those huge paydays he's gotten for fighting bums (freddie hernandez.....?)

        because boxing is sketchy!
        thats why

        war luis
he's an exciting fight with a lot of guys at 154

tell me him and angulo wouldn't make for a FOTY if he's still got something left after a long layoff

Breaking away from Don King is probably a good thing for him, but he still has an inflated since of what he's worth financial wise. I heard he demanded 50-50 for a rematch with Berto and that's crazy.
