Toney was hit in the center of the ring by a Reggie Johnson left.
He was hit, & the punch took his legs out from under him. He wasn't close to being seriously hurt, but it was a completely legit, no-doubt-about-it knockdown.

i ve read toney sometimes was KD in sparring , by big guys .

I think a lot of people wonder about that fight because it was such a strange performance by me. BASICALLY, it came during a time in my career that I wanted out of boxing and in my mind I was all but retired at that point. Making weight was miserable etc. I Never got dropped or even stung in that fight, the ref stopped it in the 7th basically because I was not punching back. and he knew me since I was a kid and knew something wasnt right. Hello Mcfly??? Anybody home Mcfly?? Why have all u guys forgot about the "Pocket Rocket" Wayne McCullough, the man has nver been KD!! ANd it still should have been never stopped until the bull**** call by the doctor in the Larios rematch, bull****! I truely hate that doctor, the man just wanted 2 more rds!

2 more rounds vs. Larios would have meant about 10-20 fewer years of life for Wayne...

the man was getting destroyed, and chances are that he would have suffered his 1st KD or maybe KO if the fight went into rds 11 & 12....

if you're truly a McCullough fan, you should be happy that the fight was stopped when it was, shoot I thought they were 1 round too late, and I'm the Pocket Rocket's biggest fan (got his autograph at the Mayorga-Forrest II weigh-in)....

True man, i know where ur comin from, but just seeing him plead to continue I think a matter of pride he shoulda been able to go. And I agree w/ u until I read what Wayne said after, he was fine and thought he should have continued, Larios did not hurt him at all, but hey, one more fight for Wayne in Ireland!
