Manny pacquiao is one of two fighters that everyone knows after that shane mosley and cotto are probabaly most well known. So on name alone you get 700k buys. Having a hype and many press tours brings it up to 1 mil. Having commercials during final four and all over CBS and Showtime 1.2 million. Having multiple shows on CBS to hype it up I am going with 1.4 million buys. There are no big boxing or ufc fights set for beggining of year so this is first big fight and gives something big for people in May 1.7 mill. No insults, immaturity or Mayweather d sucking just your honest opinions of how much this will help the fight with CBS involvement

CBS/Showtime will be very aggressive in promoting this fight to their viewers.
They want a piece of the action in an area dominated by HBO for a decade now. However, 1.7M ppv might be a little optimistic...

This network competition will be good for the sport of boxing

If the Final Four was the week before the fight maybe, but it is over a month before.

It is a good way to kick off the last month of promotion though.

It'll do 2.2 Million buys. But the fight will end at the final seconds of the first round.

I think it does 1.2-1.5 mil ppv, which is GREAT considering this is a garbage fight.

Ironically, this will be the first year that CBS isn't the exclusive channel for the opening rounds of NCAA tournament. This means more complete games will be shown and plenty more advertising time to fill up. The games will be on CBS, TNT, TBS, and TruTV and I'd assume they will utilize all four channels for promotion. (5 channels if you include Showtime itself)

I really have no clue what the numbers will be since nothing like this has been done before so we have nothing to go by.

I certainly think it should do better than the margarito fight though

Imagine if they put the fight on CBS then Manny's next fight (floyd we can only hope) on PPV. Manny performs well (which I think he will) and that next fight could do more than ODH floyd.
