Wladimar Klitschko will bash the Hayemaker - Tyson Fury

TYSON FURY believes David Haye will come up short if he ever steps in the ring with Wladimir Klitschko.

The fight Haye craves appears destined to never materialise as the WBA heavyweight champ has been unable to agree terms with WBO and IBF king Klitschko.

But unbeaten heavyweight prospect Fury believes that could be a blessing in disguise for the Hayemaker.

Fury, 22, said: "Haye could win as it only takes one punch, but I don't think he'll do it. I think he'll get beaten up really badly.

RETIREMENT PLAN ... Haye will quit before he turns 31

"Haye's got a lot of hype behind and he has people believing he's the real deal.

"But I believe anyone who stands up to him and fights back has a good chance of beating him.

"You never can tell what's going on in the boxing game because it's a really awkward one to judge.

"The money might be wrong or Klitschko might be demanding certain clauses if he loses, so you don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

"If it does happen it's going to be a good fight, but I'm not sure it's going to come off."

Haye insists Klitschko is running out of time to face him as he intends to retire before he turns 31 in October.

But Fury, who is due to return to the ring at Wembley Arena on February 19, cannot understand why the Londoner is even contemplating hanging up his gloves.

He said: "What's the point in retiring? Haye hasn't fought anybody as world champion really apart from has-beens and a never-has-been in Audley Harrison.

"It was his dream to become world heavyweight champion and he's done that, so he's done really well.

"But why would you just pack it in when you've not earned to your maximum potential and you've not fought in any mega fights? Surely you've got to test yourself?

"There's no point in hanging your gloves up if you're still earning plenty of money and fighting well, that's how I see it."

Klitschko defends his titles against British champion Dereck Chisora in April, while Haye is scheduled to make a mandatory defence of his crown in May.

And Fury believes Chisora will trouble the Ukrainian far more than Haye would.

He added: "I think Chisora-Klitschko is a better fight than Haye-Klitschko because Klitschko will have a harder time with Chisora.

"That sounds a bit daft because I think Haye would destroy Chisora.

"But Chisora is going to give it a go against Klitschko, he's going to put him under pressure.

"I've watched Klitschko at his fight camp and he doesn't like anyone to put pressure on him at all.

"I think that's the way to beat him, by forcing him back and ensuring there's plenty of punches being thrown.

"If you can upset him, and I think Chisora's already done that, you've got him. Chisora's said some daft things to him and I think he's going to try and draw him into a war.

"I don't think Chisora's blessed with any power but he can wear a man down and maybe stop him later on. He doesn't possess that one-punch knockout."

Chisora goes into his showdown with Klitschko having had just 14 fights in the pro ranks.

Fury is currently just one bout behind him but the English champion insists he is no rush to be in Del Boy's shoes.

He said: "I wouldn't be too interested in facing someone like Klitschko because it's pointless at the minute.

"I know it's a world title shot but it's more than just that. It's something you've got to be properly prepared for and you've got to have the experience to be in there.

"You've got to be getting the right money and I've heard Chisora's not getting what he should be. He's also got all of these rematch clauses and options that Klitschko insisted on.

"He's just fighting because he knows he'll get beaten by me, so why not get beaten by a world champion instead?

"If I got offered a world title shot tomorrow, I wouldn't take it because I'm not ready for it.

"There is a temptation to be fast-tracked, but the only person I'd like to fight at that higher level right now is Haye.

"I believe he's a phoney, he's not a proper world champion and he's a fraud. As Harrison was saying last year, Haye's a false prophet. He couldn't expose him but I believe I can.

"The first thing I'd do differently to Harrison is I'd hit him. I'd put it straight on him from the beginning.

"I wouldn't be scared, standing back and not wanting to fight. I'd get stuck in double handed and see how he likes that because he's just a typical bully fighter.

"He gets people scared of him before they even step into the ring. If they're not scared beforehand, they believe he's got this tremendous power, which he hasn't.

"All heavyweights can punch so it's just about not being scared and getting stuck in. Haye needs to stop fighting phonies and people who are past it."
